Our pre-Christmas Family Hotel Break in West Sussex

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Beachcroft Hotel Beach Hut Suites for a pre-Christmas family hotel break. I have been working with the hotel for 4 years now so I was thrilled when me and my family were gifted a stay at Christmastime, along with the chance to experience one of the legendary Beachcroft Christmas party nights.

Our stay was for the evening of Saturday, 23rd December; with it being so close to Christmas, I decided to team the stay with a Christmas family activity in West Sussex that afternoon. I was spoilt for choice with what to do; I opted for a live show of Billy Goats Gruff at the well-regarded nearby Chichester Festival Theatre.

We stayed in a Beach Hut Suite, the ideal family accommodation at the Beachcroft Hotel. The stylish Beach Huts are adjacent to the main hotel, with unparalleled views of the beach and Felpham Coastline. There are four beach huts in total, all family and dog-friendly, with private parking and all mod cons you’d expect from an upscale hotel. The accommodation comprises a cosy children’s bunk bedroom on the ground floor of the beach huts, with complimentary buckets, spades and nets - my children were excited to receive these complimentary gifts and soon jumped into their bunk to claim their space. Next door to the kid's bedroom is the beach hut bathroom with WC and rainshower – the shower is powerful, and the mirror is hands down brilliant for doing your makeup in – due to its size and light feature. From here, you walk up three steps into the communal lounge and living area; this space has the wow factor, with a double-height ceiling, a vibrant sea blue sofa colourful and playful printed artwork on the walls and the pièce de resistance, the stunning sea view through the patio doors to the private beach hut terrace.

Grown-ups sleep in the mezzanine master bedroom, located up a small flight of stairs from the living space, a double bed with views out the porthole window to the sea, this bedroom boasts a comfortable and well-lit dressing table, a small tv and drawers to keep belongings, a wardrobe with yoga mat, iron/ ironing board and hairdryer provided. I love the little touches like the hot water bottles the sloe gin decanter on arrival, in addition to the Tea & Coffee station with Smeg Fridge with snacks and, complimentary soft drinks and a bottle of wine, giving an authentic home-from-home feel.

Smart TV and games are provided, because it was a Christmas stay the girls both receive a wrapped present on arrival which they were excited to open!

Christmas Party Evening & Entertainment

The Beachcroft Christmas Party Nights are a thing of legend in the local area! They’ve been going for years and are always well-attended. I was excited to go and bring my family. We received the menu and pre-order form when we booked a couple of months ahead, so we all knew what we were eating weeks out! My children opted for garlic dough balls, chicken goujons fresh fruit salad / brownie and ice cream. I opted for Trout bons bons, sea bass and orange chocolate delice and hubby went for the same starter (it didn’t disappoint!), Pork Belly and Cheesecake.

The night went like this, 7pm welcome drink on arrival, 7.30pm dinner starts, throughout the night the DJ gets on the mic and does a live prize draw and music and dancing from 10pm to the wee hours.

It was a real cosy and Chrismassy night, we had crackers and games at our table, the waiting staff made a real fuss of our girls and were really good with our extra dietary requirements and requests for one of our smaller more fussy eater!

The food was delicious, the bon bons were really tasty and something we’ve never seen on a menu before, so top marks for originality! The sea bass was cooked to perfection. We had a bounty of well-cooked Christmas veg, and dessert was just the icing on the cake.

The Beachcroft Christmas party nights are priced competitively from £39 per person inclusive of three courses, all the Christmas trimmings and DJ entertainment. The price ranges up to £50 per person on Saturday evenings. They are an ideal place to go with family, friendship groups, and work Christmas parties. Family Christmas party nights are in the mix to be developed for next year so watch this space on that….

Christmas Activities in West Sussex close by to Beachcroft Hotel

I was spoilt for choice with what to do with my family that weekend. There really is a lot on offer for families at Christmastime in Sussex, I have wanted to go to Chichester Festival Theatre for some time now, so in the end, it was an easy choice to make! There were three shows that took my fancy: Life of Pi, Jungle Book and Billy Goats Gruff. My children are aged 5 and 7, so looking closer into each show's details and dates, Billy Goats Gruff was recommended for 3-7-year-olds. Perfect I thought, there is nothing worse than going to a show and your kids not being engaged with it. We were in the Minerva Theatre, adjacent to the play café, which was a great spot for the pre and post-Christmas craft and refreshments. The show was just great, brilliantly done, great space and really engaging - our girls loved it, as did we and we already have our next show lined up to visit. It’s a real gem of a place and caters brilliantly for families from very young upwards.

Afterwards, we took a stroll into Chichester, went to see the cathedral and all the pretty Christmas lights.

Family Stays at Beachcroft Hotel West Sussex

Beachcroft Hotel and Beach Hut Suites cater to families really well, the huts are the ideal accommodation for an upscale beach stay. The main hotel has a selection of seaview family rooms which accommodate family sizes from 2-5, and the Penthouse Suite accommodating up to 6, perfect for multigenerational family stays.

The hotel provides lots of great little extras to the children including, beachcroft colouring in sheets, local area i-spy sheets, bucket, spade and fishing nets and ice cream vouchers at Pinks Parlour.
